Who We Are
Light of Knowledge Institute is a registered charity, with our new community initiative developed under the
guidance of Muftiyah Zaheeda Sakhawat MBE. The institute was created to provide a welcoming space where women and young
girls of all ages can come together to learn, grow and support one another within a positive community environment.
Our aim is to support personal development, confidence and wellbeing through a variety of activities including
courses, workshops, community events and sports. We organise community activities, social events and group days out
that encourage friendship, participation and a sense of belonging.
Light of Knowledge Institute offers programmes designed to equip women and young girls with valuable life skills,
strong values and the confidence to make positive contributions within their communities.
Our focus is on building a caring and supportive community where women and young girls can develop strong character,
meaningful connections and a sense of purpose while taking part in educational, social and community activities.
Charitable objectives
Advance education
To advance education for the public benefit by providing lectures, courses, workshops and other educational activities designed to promote personal development, ethical awareness, life skills, wellbeing and social responsibility.
Promote community cohesion
To promote community cohesion and civic engagement for the public benefit by organising programmes, events and activities that strengthen community participation, mutual understanding and positive social contribution.
Provide facilities & resources
To provide facilities and resources necessary to carry out the above purposes for the benefit of the public.
